Carlton began his career in the foodservice equipment business as a leased commercial kitchen equipment installer for Coastal States Equipment from 1981-1988. This included refrigeration, beverage systems, and cooking equipment. Coastal States was the distributor for KoldDraft Ice Machines and Alco K-way in the South East United States. While employed there, Carlton was lucky enough to work on large projects, such as the ’82 and ’84 World’s Fair and the Studebaker’s chain.
In 1988 he started his own business installing custom kitchens, including for Capitol City Equipment, Rykoff Sexton, and Edward Don. Ten years later he decided to pursue a career in sales and design and came to work for Boelter’s Southeastern Division, where he started as a street salesman and eventually moved to contract sales. His installation background helps ensure that the equipment we provide works perfectly with a particular application. With Boelter, Carlton has completed projects for the Courtyard Inner Harbor Baltimore, Marriott Conference Center in Sugarland, Texas, CDC 106 campus, Georgia Technology and Conference Center in Atlanta, W Hotel Atlanta, Lowe Hotel Atlanta/Annapolis, Hyatt Midtown Atlanta, and Hyatt Polaris Atlanta.
